BOYS ESCAPE FROM MARS TRAINING SHIP

And travel to Preston Without a Ticket.

Two Dundee boys, Charles Fullerton (17) and Edward Reilly (16), were charged with illegally travelling on the railway at Preston. Witnesses stated that the boys escaped from the Training Ship Mars at Newport, and secreted themselves in a lavatory of a football excursion train from Swansea to Edinburgh the other morning, being discovered at Preston. Fullerton promised to return to the ship, his captain promising to pay the fare to Newport, while Reilly promised to return home to his parents.
